Since joining IARC in 2008, Dr Abedi-Ardekani MD, Clinical and anatomical pathologist practices molecular pathology focused on “cancer research” and contributes to a large number of cross-sectional IARC projects.

The training course “Pathology of Cancer: basic principles for non-pathologists” was developed by Dr Abedi-Ardekani, with the scientific contribution of Dr Ian Cree, Head of the Evidence Synthesis and Classification Section and the WHO Classification of Tumors Group and, Dr Zisis Kozlakidis, Head of the Laboratories Services and Biobank (LSB) at IARC.

Initially targeting IARC personnel, the aim of this course is to provide basic information about principles of pathology and help participants to have a better understanding of this expertise which is essential in the field of cancer research but poorly known to many researchers. It has been recorded in December 2019 and the material is now available on the webTV.
