IARC Postdoctoral Fellowships Frequently Asked Questions
I have an MD, MPH degree - can I apply?o Candidates with a MD are eligible to apply.
I am currently a PhD student - can I apply?o Candidates in the final year of their PhD studies are eligible to apply but must have been awarded their degree by the time of starting their Fellowship (30 November of the year in which the Fellowship will be awarded).
Are these Fellowships only for low- and middle-income country candidates (LMIC)?
- IARC Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to candidates from any country. However, priority is given to candidates from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), or to candidates from other countries with projects of relevance to LMICs.
For how long is the Fellowship?o This is a 2-year fellowship; the second year is subject to satisfactory appraisal.
Can I submit my application without proof of language ability?o Yes. This can be supplied at a later stage, if requested.
My education was in English - do I have to submit proof of language ability?o No
Do I have to complete the medical report form?o No. Candidates can wait for the selection outcome before having the medical report completed by their general practitioner.
